Chappy Callum delivers social and emotional support for our students facing issues in the playground or at home; and works within a combined pastoral care, mentoring, and community development context to help provide identified families, students and groups with the best education our school can offer.
Callum has accountabilities here at the school. He is engaged through, and the role overseen, by the Principal and Local Chaplaincy Committee. He does not provide religious instruction or evangelical teaching. He is employed on a full-time basis through funding provided by the Federal Government, various agencies and the local community, not from school funds provided by the government for education purposes.
The chaplaincy service is one part of the large support team at Currumbin State School. Support for your child can be sought by contacting your child's teacher who will put in a support referral form on your behalf (see referral process in 'Guidance Officer' section).
