Speech-language therapy services are provided for students
with difficulties in communication enrolled or registered in state education
facilities.
The focus of these services is to enhance students'
educational programs and outcomes.
These students require assistance to develop competencies in
the areas of communication, language, learning and literacy.
Speech difficulties evident in the education context may present in any of the following areas:

needs, abilities and interests

in group activities

a positive self-concept

appropriate behaviour

in key learning areas.
